Fulbright Student Program competition - apply by 6/16
Multiple events
The 2027-2028 Fulbright US Student Program (FUSP) competition is OPEN, award listings are up-to-date, and the UW-Madison has two additional information sessions scheduled for June for those eager to learn more!
The Fulbright US Student Program (FUSP) is for UW-Madison students, alumni, and staff interested in exploring options abroad to teach English, conduct research, practice their art, further their studies, and more.
FUSP is one of the most prestigious and accessible ways to build on your UW-Madison experience and pursue new opportunities overseas – the three basic requirements to apply are that you’re a US citizen, have your bachelor’s degree in hand by the time you would take up the award (fall 2027) and not have your PhD in hand at the time you apply (October 2026) – so undergraduates who just completed their junior year and graduate students are eligible to apply this cycle!
We have two information sessions scheduled in June for our UW-Madison community:
Fulbright US Student Program ONLINE information session
Saturday, June 6, 9-10apm CDT via Zoom
Learn more and register at https://go.wisc.edu/FUSPinfosession
Fulbright US Student Program ONLINE information session
Tuesday, June 16, 6-7pm CDT via Zoom
Learn more and register at https://go.wisc.edu/FUSPinfosession
The sessions above will be roughly the same, so you need only attend one!
In addition, we will be offering an introductory application walk-through and additional application workshops in July & August. If interested in those, please take a few moments to indicate your interest and availability to participate in those sessions at https://go.wisc.edu/fuspworkshop
If you can’t make any of the above, I’m happy to answer questions by email, or set up an individual meeting to discuss specific interests and goals. You can book an appointment for the day & time that works best for you through Starfish (for current students) or my Calendly (for all others). And, of course, you’re welcome to email me at uwfulbright@wisc.edu with any questions.
Finally, we offer weekly virtual & in-person drop-in advising throughout the year for all Fulbright-related issues, questions, or exploration on Wednesdays, 11:00am-1:00pm via Zoom at https://go.wisc.edu/FulbrightDropIn and in-person in 256 Bascom Hall.
Learn more about the Fulbright US Student Program, your options, and resources available to you at https://fulbright.wisc.edu/fusp/!
