If you want to stay in your current role…
- Focus on the Skills in the left-hand column – these are the most common for your field.
- Review your LinkedIn profile and resume for these skills.
- If there are any missing that you can take credit for, be sure to add those in (either in the Skills section or within your bullets)
If you want to explore new roles…
- First, sort your job matches by Similarity Score (high to low). This will give you the jobs with the most skills in common with your current role – in other words, the obvious moves that will allow you to quickly transition
- Next, sort your job matches by Popularity Score (low to high). This will give you the jobs that have lots of skills in common but that are less obvious transitions – in other words, the roles that could be perfect for you but that you’re not likely to have uncovered.
- As you discover jobs you’re excited about, follow these three steps to explore further:
- Click the “Find Connections on LinkedIn” button to identify people who have these roles today. Filter by 1st degree connections, 2nd degree connections, or school alumni to find friendly folks who can share their experience with you.
- If you like what you hear, consider clicking on some of the “Skills to Build” to explore LinkedIn Learning courses on those topics
- And when you feel ready to apply, just click the “Find Jobs on LinkedIn” button to start going after your next dream role!
